Silver or Brass Lapel and Collar Pin - 3hr class

In this 3-hour class, students will use traditional silversmithing techniques to hand fabricate one lapel pin in either silver or brass.

They will learn how to design on paper, transfer their design onto metal, work with a jeweller's saw, file, sand, and polish their piece with a flex-shaft before prepping and soldering the pin backing.

Students can choose from a selection of provided designs or create their own design. If you’re creating your own design, consider that you will be working with a 1.5cm x 1.5cm piece of metal. Keep it fairly simple as the class is only 3 hours.

The teacher will offer work in progress demonstrations as well as technical tips and tricks. Students will be expertly guided through every step!

Tools and materials are provided for the class (including sterling silver or brass plate and wire for your project as well as a pin back)
