Janet Evans
Janet Evans has been creating glass art in Ottawa since 2010. From blown glass to beads, her work is both whimsical and sophisticated. “I want my pieces to make you smile…it’s all about the fun!” Her hot shop pieces include paperweights and vases while her fused glass work comprises plates, bowls and jewellery. Presently, flamework is her primary focus and she enjoys creating both wearable glass art as well as exploring larger sculptural pieces.
Her flameworking studio is located within Loretta Studio and Gallery and she is a member of the Ottawa Glassblowing Cooperative.
“Working with glass is, to me, like capturing light in solid form. While hot glass is a very challenging medium, playing with its luminous quality and luscious colours has become my passion.”
