Solid Sculpture (borosilicate) - 2 week session, 3 hours/week
This class will focus on solid borosilicate work while engaging in the methods used to form sculptural pieces. Students will learn about bridging, making smooth joints and other important practices. Students will receive an introduction to the borosilicate colour palette including cadmium and striking colours and how to work them into your projects. We will also cover sculpting tips including ideal kiln temperatures, soak times and annealing. Tools and materials are provided for the class. Some previous hot glass experience would be beneficial. Due to the nature of glass, students will have to return to pick up their finished pieces after they have been annealed.
