Grant Watson: sculpture

“Art is the intersection where the Spirit becomes Form.”

Grant’s work derives from an eclectic educational background. He attended the two-year Creative Photography program at Humber College in Toronto and has taken courses in Electrical Construction, Residential Framing, Foundation Construction & Communications, Tungsten Inert Gas Welding, and Welder Fitting at Algonquin College. He also studied English Literature, Poetry and Psychology at Carleton University.

Watson worked as a photographer for fifteen years and taught photography and photographic studio. Grant then branched into his true calling – creating works of art and sculptures, exercising a unique fusion of his myriad skills. His fluid lines and use of natural objects in association with steel, wire, beads and whatever else is necessary speak to a playful, humorous aesthetic, the expressions of an old soul.  He has designed and constructed artworks for individual clients, and participated in gallery exhibits.
