Founded in October 2015, Loretta Studios and Gallery fosters an environment for learning, collaboration and the personal development of artists in the national capital region. We are a glass focused, multi-disciplinary studio with an onsite gallery which provides the opportunity to exhibit our work.
The idea behind the establishment of our space is to provide affordable studio spaces to artists who cannot work at home and to encourage the use of shared resources, shared knowledge and collaborations. Structured as a cooperative, each member of the group contributes to the ongoing costs associated with running the space. We currently provide studio spaces for twelve people; emerging artists, more established artists and also hobbyists who are interested in further developing their skills. We have received teachers in our facility to offer classes and plan to invite more from Canada and abroad in order to ensure our continued education. Each member openly shares their knowledge with others and this attitude leads to the personal development of individuals within the group.
Since opening to the public in December 2015, we have hosted several exhibitions in our gallery. Some group exhibits, some highlighting individual artists at Loretta.
